My parents were evacuated from their house on Thursday- they have moved into an apartment temporarily. Both of them hefted countless sandbags in the neighborhood. They came down to visit for the weekend to get away from the river for awhile and to celebrate my dad's birthday which was on Friday. Last I had heard there was no water in the house and we all hope it stays that way. There was an earth dike built around the neighborhood with a section of it sandbagged. Keep Fargo residents in your prayers- there is a big storm system headed this way.
Any word yet on how they fared the 2nd round of storms?
ReplyDeleteThings are still okay on the homefront. Mom left for California today to see her new granddaughter get baptised this weekend. I just read an article however saying that the second crest (in a few weeks) may be higher than the first. That said, Fargoans will likely be living with the dikes for quite awhile.
